Onze anos depois de “sangrar” no palco do MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) e dez anos após o famoso vestido de carne, Lady Gaga foi mais uma vez protagonista da premiação, que aconteceu na noite do domingo (30).
A cantora levou para casa cinco prêmios, incluindo a de artista do ano, e chamou atenção para as máscaras originais que usou em cada uma de suas aparições ao longo de uma noite que teve distanciamento social, e também contou com apresentação de Miley Cyrus e presença de Ariana Grande em duo com Gaga.
O VMA 2020 foi o primeiro grande evento a acontecer desde o surgimento da pandemia do novo coronavírus. A cerimônia realizada em Nova York teve discursos de aceitação e parte das performances pré-gravadas para diminuir os riscos de contaminação. O evento foi realizado em diferentes bairros de Nova York, como Manhattan, Brooklyn ou Bronx, para apresentações ao vivo ao ar livre, embora quase sem público presente.
